The #1 rule of skincare application- layer from thinnest to thickest consistency. Here is a step-by-step guide:
Cleansing comes first to purify pores and prepare the skin for all other treatments.
If you keep a spot treatment on deck to zap those occasional blemishes, dab it on right after cleansing. Massage it in and let it sit for a moment.
The heavy-lifters that correct specific skin concerns, serums contain high concentrations of key ingredients. These ingredients are smaller in molecular size, which means they should be applied prior to more occlusive formulas.
Because eye crèmes are texturally thinner and more concentrated than moisturizers, they go on first. By doing so you minimize the risk of layering moisturizer underneath and allowing it to obstruct penetration of your eye product.
Oil (night and/or day):
Add an oil to your routine for an instant glow or extra moisture in dry areas.
Moisturizer/Repair crème (day/night):
An important role your moisturizer plays is to “lock in” everything beneath and prevent moisture from evaporating from your skin keeping it balanced and supple.
Sunscreen (day only):
Sunscreen is always the final step during the day.
